A Former Defense Minister of India and Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar yesterday (March 17, 2019) passed away due to a prolonged illness. He was 63 years old. In the demise of Parrikar, BJP expresses the feeling of losing leader of party face and clean image in Goa.

Manoran Parrikar, who has a living and clean image, has dominated Goa politics for three decades.

▪ Over the years, Parrikar, in his short stint in Goa fifth year of political instability, but his skillful leadership ended this instability. Parrikar has given a successful leadership to Goa as Chief Minister.

They were honored to hold Goa three times Chief Minister. From 2000 to 2005, 2012 to 2014 and from March 14, 2017, he held the charge of Goa as Chief Minister of Maharashtra.

Specially in the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board in Goa in 2013, Manohar Parrikar had proposed the name of Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate.

▪ After that 2014 the responsibility of the Defense Minister of India was entrusted to Parrikar in 2014. During 2014 to 2017, he took over the Defense Minister. In the absence of a clear majority for any party in the Goa Legislative Assembly elections in 2017, the BJP had managed to retain power in the state by playing Parichar's leadership.

Manohar Parrikar was battling pancreas from last year. Goa Medical College, Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, AIIMS Hospital in Delhi and Parrikar also in treatment. However, Parrikar's health was consistent and he had a consistent fluctuation.

▪ On one hand, while fighting against cancer, Parrikar also roped in the state carriage. Until the last breath, he carried the state axle to the Chief Minister.
