Cleanliness of Ganga under Namami Ganga Mission

The Ganga program is being run by the Central Government to strengthen the efforts of the State Governments for cleanliness. Till 30 November 2018, 254 projects are being used for sewage management, revamping of waters, sewage treatment projects, construction of ghats, development of cremation grounds, river surface purification, biodiversity conservation and plantation etc. For this, Rs. 24672 crores have been sanctioned.

Waste water management will be processed by 303 million liters of water under 131 projects, 886 million liters capacity wastewater treatment plants will be made and 4871 kms of sewage treatment plant will be prepared. So far, 4994 crores have been spent for this. Central Pollution Control Board is monitoring the water quality of Ganga. Water quality through this is cleanliness, and in all seasons, the river's biodiversity can survive in this water.

Water pollution has shown improvement in more than 40 places. This information was received by the Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. Satya Pal Singh gave in the Lok Sabha.
