National Intellectual Property Rights Policy was adopted on 2016, 12 May 2016. This results in the following: Due to the empowerment of the institutional system

Due to the efficient manpower, the proportion of pending applications for the intellectual property application is reduced. The number of pending applications for patent applications was 1,97,934 as on March 31, 2016. They came on 31 October 2018 to 1,39,274. The number of pending trademarks stood at 2,59,668 to 32,619.

In the first eight months of 2018-19, the increase in the number of patents has increased by 7 percent compared to last year. There has been an increase of about 28% in the amount of trademark filing.

Patent Rule 2013 was amended. The fully revised Trademark Rules, 2017, were notified on March 6, 2017.

A program was organized to create awareness about intellectual property rights for about 200 educational institutions and industries, police, customs, judiciary, in rural areas.

Information about intellectual property rights was given in NCERT's commerce stream course.

In collaboration with WIPO, the World Intellectual Property Organization, six technology and latest search support centers have been set up in different states.

India's rankings have improved in the latest global search index released by the World Intellectual Property Organization. India was 81st in 2015. In 2018, he came in at 57th position.

Intellectual property rights enforcement set was created to assist the police in investigating the crimes, especially for counterfeit trademarks and copyright theft. An IPR center was established in 41 universities.

2,240 patent agents and 702 trademark agents are registered according to the provisions of the Patents Act 1970 and the Trademarks Act 1999.
