India's sixth national report in reference to the biological diversity conference


13th National Meeting of State Biodiversity Boards (SBBs) was organized in New Delhi by the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA) in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.

On this occasion, the Union Environment Ministry of India has released a national report under the head 'Progress on India's National Biodiversity Targets: A Preview'.

This report provides a review of the progress of achieving 12 National Biodiversity Targets (NBT) developed under the process of biodiversity according to the target of 20 global events.

Some top issues


India is the first country in the first five countries of the world, the first and most biodiversity countries in the world, which has submitted the sixth national report for the CBD secretariat.

Under the conservation of biodiversity, India's total geographical area is more than 20%.

Target of no. 11% of India's geographical area has achieved more than that.

While 20% of National Biodiversity Targets (NBT) related to the area under biodiversity management are more than the components of the land area.

Over 0.3% of the creatures worldwide are on the verge of destruction, but only 0.08% of them are in India.
